Welcome to Joys of Jeevithum!

Hello! Welcome to my inaugural blog post and launch of my new endeavor, Joys of Jeevithum! My name is Rena George and I am a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor here to listen to your health story, learn more about you, and share ways to help reframe what a healthy and happy life might look like for you through the lens of functional nutrition therapy. 


I can’t deny my many failed efforts to sustain the latest fad diets, health gimmicks, or miracle supplements out there to feel and look my best, but what I have learned is that there are no shortcuts to effectively getting results without trade offs to your overall health. In order to get results that last long, you have to make the choice, believe in the value of healing your body, and put in the effort to avoid falling back into the trap. Good news my friend, I’m here to help you! Let me make it easier for you and equip you with the right tools and guidance to achieve all of your health goals.


During my personal health journey I’ve had to work on breaking bad habits with eating, sleeping, hydrating, exercising, and constantly making excuses all while de-prioritizing my health. I went from being a meat eater most of my life, explored the vegetarian world, tried being vegan for a bit and finally landed on a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet (vegetarian that eats egg and dairy). I began to feel the positive impacts to my body after this shift in understanding WHY its important to have a nutrient dense diet and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It became so clear to me that this is how I should feel and that all the efforts I’ve made to this point were well worth it. Trust me when I say that I have walked in the shoes of many of those who have felt overwhelmed with how to take that first step but just haven’t been motivated to put in the time when the finish line seems so far away. You’re not alone. Let’s work as a team to find the right plan for you!

My approach to wellness through functional nutrition involves acknowledging your bio-individual needs, evaluating the entire story that your body is trying to tell, identifying root causes to underlying issues, and addressing any dysfunction that may be occurring and causing you to feel physically or mentally impaired.
